SCHOOL PROJECT 2018-19<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

HIKING PROJECT \u201cKNOWLEDGE AND DISCOVERY OF THE TERRITORY OF SICILY\u201d ACCADEMIC YEAR 2018-2019 PREMISE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Naturalistic Association for the Hiking KALURA, was founded in July 2001 in Ragusa, and is responsible to plan and conduct hikes, trekking and walking trips in all Sicily land, with particular reference to the Iblei mountains. The Association is composed exclusively by environmental hiking guides\u2013 all are associated with the national association: A.I.G.A.E. All of us have developed, over the years, a mix of experience and knowledge of the local areas to offer to our guest the best environmental experiences in Sicily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the various proposals for hiking presented, Kalura want to be a focal point for all the Educational Institutions (starting from pre-School (4-5 years) in the province of Ragusa. We are pleased to bring to Your attention one of the projects teaching-trails processed by us addressed to both: teachers and students. One of our life-motif is that the young generations have to know your territory, walking inside, walking through those streets, and those places that our ancestors before us have created and then used in absolute balance with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE PROJECT<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Simple path to start to discover and explore our territory. The project follows an ideal path divided into two parts: Knowledge and Discovery
Moments that have as main subject the territory, understood not as an abstract place, but as a place of lived experience, of nature, of history, of reality, of human, of cities and countries where the community lives, and of which the school is a part of. The students will be \u201cwrapped\u201d in an emotional path, that provides them the knowledge and the tools needed for a first approach to the territory. The project will lead them to test himself about experience of hiking and walking to discover the hidden corners and the most evocative of the iblei mountains: the cave. The ancient canyon of fluvial origin, real and true ecological oasis.. The students will be made aware of simple notions and basic hiking, geology of the sicily territory, flora and fauna, as well the equipment and the power supply of the hiker. Moreover, we will highlight the historical, cultural of the various sites, in order to stimulate and develop in the younger generations, the concept of \u201c perception, ecological land\u201d and proper use of nature. We intend to extend our project to young people because we strongly believe that regaining their ability to walk, to discover new places that you develop around your city and wonder of the colors and smells of the territory of the experiences that every child, the future adults of this society, he must live. We believe that the nature must be first known and discovery and then respect it and protect it, not just limited to being a simple \u201cuser\u201d, but an active part, by interacting with it. For this, we believe it is important to not just \u201cwhat you know\u201d but also \u201chow to know\u201d.... and our way is the way!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OBJECTIVES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • introducing hiking, or at the value of walking as a physical activity, spiritual, and eco-friendly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    PURPOSE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    To recover the historical memory of the places that, seems to be lost. Create a proper mindset coherent, ecological and at the same time dynamic. Consistent, understood as the belief that the behaviors and choices arise from the awareness of an experience and acquired knowledge. Dynamic, because it can evolve to the ever-changing problems. Often a single choice from a position of the individual and the everyday, you can reach great goals. The ACTIVITIES of This project will be implemented through an ideal path divided into two stages: first, the knowledge and the discovery of The first moment (the knowledge) will take place in class, in a meeting with a few days of the trip and to be agreed with the teacher, during which the students in the form of a discussion will be made aware of simple notions, and a basic respect our territory, and the place of the excursion: geographical classification, geology, equipment and power hiking, history, knowledge of the local flora and fauna; The second time (the discovery) will be the hikes itself, to choose from among those proposed below, and to be agreed in the time period between September and October and from march to may. In this way the students will discover and will be able to live an experience in close contact with the natural environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
